Since I have known you, and you've been one of my longest-term fandom friends, you've been an amazing, kind, intelligent, generous, and compassionate person. Just today, someone else on my flist was talking about how her fandom friends WERE her real life friends, as fandom had become so much more than that thing she retreated to when no one was looking. Fandom IS real. And just like real life, some people get a hello, how's the weather at the water cooler, while other connections are much stronger. I'm thankful for ALL of the meaningful relationships that I've developed because of fandom.
