science music poll

The Scientist (Coldplay) - Yeah, I know, not really sciency, but discussing this song with The Chief is the one that spurred the whole project, so it has to be included.
I think I'm a clone now (Weird Al)
Pocket Calculator (Kraftwerk) - Math counts, doesn't it?
F@#k the creationists (MC Hawking)
Clones (Alice Cooper)
She blinded me with science (Thomas Dolby)
E=MC2 (Big Audio Dynamite)
The Sodium Chloride Song - OK, it's educational, not popular. But it makes me laugh.
The Amoeba Hop - This one, too. And it makes me want to re-rec
lesyeuxvert00's microbial slash each time I hear it.
I can make you a man (Tim Curry/RHPC) - Science fiction counts, too. :)
Supermassive Black Hole (Muse)
Chemistry (Semisonic)
Weird science (Oingo Boingo)
Do the evolution (Pearl Jam)
Particle Man (TMBG)
Genetic engineering (X-Ray Spex)
Surreal (Free Radicals)
The future's so bright... (Timbuk3) - I'm waffling on this one. It's sorta nuclear - that's what "he" is studying - but not. Opinions?
Still considering:
Building a histidine [Shut it! HIS biosynthesis is really important, and really useful in yeast genetics and selection.]
Energy (The Apples in Stereo)
one of the scientist biographies (Artichoke)

Date: 2007-04-13 03:58 pm (UTC)Hubby dearest apparently has an entire CD of science-themed songs... all in the line of Amoeba Hop... they're from the late 60s though. Not sure if you're interested.
I was also thinking of the planet song from Animaniacs. Not sure if you're counting Astronomy as science, though. And if you're counting science fiction I've got a 1000 songs for you.

Date: 2007-04-15 06:42 am (UTC)I'm a huge procrastinator, myself. I gathered a bunch of songs and just let them sit while I played and replayed and reorganized them in iTunes.

Date: 2007-04-15 01:44 am (UTC)And after I voted for snail mail, I got to thinking. I'll be getting DSL in a few days, so it wouldn't be any problem to dl the CD. Whichever is easiest for you. =) I;m just not used to thinking of it being easy to dl something.
I'm emailing you my snail mail address just in case though.

Date: 2007-04-15 07:10 am (UTC)I believe so, yes. =) He's playing the piano while singing about the PT, and he also adds a little bit of humor in-between verses.
Someone sent me a CD for Christmas that also has Data reciting his poem about his cat Spot. It's kinda science-y. If you want it, I'll be able to upload it after Tuesday.
