This is just me suggesting what I did when I was in NYC, but--two other things: spending an hour or two people-watching in Central Park is actually quite entertaining (everyone has a dog and everyone looks like their dogs), and if you're going for a food place somewhere Lombardi's Pizza is the most amazing thing ever.
