+ The Cranberries? Really? :DD
+ Unpopular opinion: I am not really excited about The Young Veins. Mostly because I wasn't impressed with the single they released, but also because I am not particularly fond of Ryan Ross's voice.
+ I am irrationally annoyed by the shifting POV in The Secret History of The Pink Carnation. First it's 1st person, then it's 3rd person shifting mid-scene between the hero and heroine. Eh.
+ HS AU and girl!Brendon need to get out of my head so I can think about other things for a while.
+ Watching the New Perspective video repeatedly is not helping with the last item.

Date: 2009-08-26 03:47 am (UTC)I think the HS AU won't leave me alone until it IS written, rather than being relegated to the massive WIP folder on my laptop.
Ugh. They get MORE annoying? I might have to stop when I finish this one, then. I am really impatient with the non-fanfic fiction I read lately. I don't know if I've gotten spoiled by having my whims catered to in fandom or just being unreasonably picky.

Date: 2009-08-26 03:57 am (UTC)I really didn't like the way the book tried to shoehorn chicklit onto what was already a romance novel. And I super didn't like that in the framing story the guy's a douche and the chick's an idiot.
This is where lj-ing about everything I read comes in handy, apparently I wrote Complaint #2: Ms. Willig, this is your third book. LEARN WHAT POINT OF VIEW MEANS. Within one scene she'll jump from the heroine's POV to the hero's and back, with no warning. I had whiplash. I was frequently confused about what was going on and why, because I couldn't work out who was narrating. I know it's limiting to stick to one person's head per scene, but THAT'S HOW IT WORKS. My god. My review of the first one is "ehhhh" bordering on "blah." I really wanted to like them, and I just didn't.
