I met a bunch of awesome folks, like [livejournal.com profile] vic_ramsey, [livejournal.com profile] xingou, [livejournal.com profile] eckerlilas, [livejournal.com profile] fiddleyoumust, and [livejournal.com profile] shutyourface on Thursday and Friday. Actually, I met more people, but I can't remember all the real names and LJ names (and someday my brain is going to explode from the cognitive dissonance of dual identity, just so you know). Others who saw the Texas RBL dates plus the PWTs/The Cab show at the Meridian on Friday will probably write epic reviews and include pictures, so I'm not going to do a whole recap.

Highlights (minus my facepalm moment after the show Thursday night):

1. Surprise meet&greet that allows us to still get barrier? AWESOMEST THING EVER.

2. Spencer Smith is even prettier in person than in pictures and video and as seen from across the stage. Jon Walker really *is* that mellow. Or high. Same difference. It makes his little bare-foot dancing-off-in-his-own-world performance that much more entertaining.

3. My tattoos were apparently a curiosity (which strikes me as weird, b/c it's not like tattoos are unusual or anything, esp. with that crowd), as the Plain White Ts dudes asked to see them and about their meaning. Which only worked because the bands were all seated alphabetically, and I had some extra time while the people behind me were gushing over the Discos. And apparently they were memorable enough for Mike (bassist) to recognize them the next night when I was at the barrier in front of him (again).

4. I really have no idea what Singer is doing when he's kneeling and being twisty and bendy, other than showing us his gray briefs. Get out of the way! You're blocking my view of Johnson and Cash! *cough*

5. Uh, is the "I'm single, so any single girls or guys, see me after the show" schtick going to be a normal intro to Lying forever? I mean, I know the single part has been for the entire Pretty.Odd touring cycle, but the "guys, too" part? (I LOL'd when it was followed by "Is that weird, the guys too?" tacked on at the end. My thought? It's not weird in Austin. Or to most of their fans.)

6. Zack is made of awesome. :)

7. Crazy fans who creep into dressing rooms and freak the band dudes out? Ruin things for EVERYONE.

8. Ian would smoke Keith Richards' ashes. (IDEK, okay?)

9. Signed setlist from the PWTs at Meridian FTW! :D

10. I don't hate Hey There Delilah any less than I did before. But my irrational love of early PWTs songs has grown, now that I've seen them as headliners instead of doing an abbreviated set that is mostly songs from Every Second Counts.

Do I need to go to Dallas on the 30th to see The All-American Rejects?

I'm so sad about that but so happy we got to see their last show.
