The lovely [livejournal.com profile] petquality requested "F/G, weekend off", which happens to also fit one of the [livejournal.com profile] 100quills prompts.

Title: Weekend off
Rating: G
Word count: 100
Prompt: Set 50.4, #46, escape
Warnings: twincest implied
A/N: (I think this header contains more words than the drabble!) The event to which Fred refers occurred in this drabble, also written for PQ. The entire [livejournal.com profile] 100quills prompt set is here.

George stood fidgeting where the portkey dropped him. Confused, he eyed the nearby stream and the tent Fred was unpacking.

"Why here? We can come here any time."

"But we haven't, have we?"

"But—"

"Sshh."

Finished with the tent, Fred stood, stilling George by wrapping an arm tight around his shoulder.

"We came here to get away, remember? To cool off in the quiet together? And that's what we're doing now. No Voldemort, no Death Eaters, no shop, no worries about Ron getting hurt helping Harry." He rested their foreheads together. "Yeah?"

Releasing a deep breath, George nodded. "Yeah."

Awwww, so sweet! Fred'll take good care of George, I know it. *sigh* How lovely. Thank you for this, it's swell! *deep girly sigh again* Your twins are so good.

I want to go hang out with them. I'm sure there's room in that tent, if it's anything like the one they had for the QWC in GoF. Glad you like. :)

I've got another prompt that screams to be paired to artwork you did for the last fest. "Colorful" fits those magenta robes, don't you think?

By all means, yes, of course! And feel free to link to the art as well if you wish. I'm honored to provide twinspiration! (Oh I am NEVER gonna get tired of using that little pun!)

Mmm. My mind is awhirl, imagining them with one Muggle sleeping bag in that tent.

*awed nodding* :)

I've been enjoying a JOP camping fantasy along similiar lines. Funnily enough. ;D

JOP camping?

*sigh*

Yeah, that's a lovely fantasy to indulge. Something about the isolation really appeals.

Heh. I usually end up thinking of them surrounded by heeeeaps of other people, as they must've been when they camped out at Reading Festival this year. The shy exhibitionist in me likes the idea of just that thin membrane of tent material keeping their activities from the eyes of thousands of neighbours...

Ohdear. X-)

Public!sex, yet not quite.

*stares into space, dazed*

Ahem.

I think my immediate assumption must come from my own camping experience-I've only ever camped miles from anywhere, with no one else around. Brokeback Mountain-type terrain.

*sigh* Brokeback Mountain. All that gorgeousness, all that angst. Can you explain to me how the Best Director did not direct the Best Film?

I cannot tell you. I haven't seen Crash. This is how bad I am at getting around to seeing movies. I just saw Brokeback for the first time this week and have yet to see Crash and we have a copy! We were sent a screener copy so we could vote for the SAG Awards. We never watched it. Bad Fletch!

Anyway, my guess would be that Ang Lee, the great director that he is, failed to get a better performance out of Gyllenhaal. I was surprised at how underwhelming he was in it. Heath Ledger blew me away. What I mean is he surprised me. I haven't ever been a fan of his. I'm glad he's finally performing up to the hype. He really became Ennis and his struggle was so painfully clear.

You know, when I read Brokeback Mountain, I had a totally different picture of Jack than what I saw on-screen. He seemed needy to me, emotionally. But in the movie, he seemed almost creepily intent on the sexual side of things. And it's weird, because I've seen Gyllenhaal's other performances and been really impressed.

I wonder if Gyllenhaal read the book? Some actors refuse to do so, claiming that the book and film are different things and they don't what to muddy the film with stuff from the book. While this can be true, it can also leave you without lots of insight to your character.

I think Gyllenhaal only acted what was on the page. Ledger gave us the story underneath. Imagine if Ledger had only acted what was on the page? We wouldn't have gotten any of the conflict and pain inside of him. Ledger gave such a wonderfully layered performance. He said and even acted one way but showed us that he felt another. Gyllenhaal gave us very little of that layering. Obviously, Jack's struggles are different ones but he has them nonetheless. We didn't see them from Gyllenhaal. His Jack was very two demensional next to Ennis. It was a glaring difference at times. Too bad.
