still not a proper recap or review

1. RL things: Sasha towed, rental car functioning, claim filed. Back at work today. Blah.
2. Random Bonnaroo commentary. It was HOT. But good.
Favorite sets: My Morning Jacket and Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. The Black Keys were good too.
Eminem and Lil Wayne were very entertaining, but I expected nothing less. I was not impressed with Wiz Khalifa. Possibly because he kept talking about fucking other guys' bitches.
Buffalo Springfield's sound was terribly managed.
Karen Elson has a pleasant voice, but I think her singing career would've gone the way of Kate Moss's if her (soon to be ex-) husband were not Jack White.
Neon Trees' lead singer stripped over the course of their set. Since 90% of the crowd was wearing bathing suits, I couldn't blame him. HOT. DRY. Little shade.
A+ set from Justin Townes Earle, and from Ryan Bingham. Missed most of NOFX's.
Could hear Scissor Sisters from our tent. A++++
3. Re: Panic! At The Disco (for the five people who care)
I'm still going through my photos. Spencer's cymbals blocked my view of his face 90% of the time at Dallas, so I don't have many good shots of him from the first night. I was in front of Dallon there, and between him and Brendon at Houston, so there's a lot of their shenanigans, but not so much Ian. Here, for anyone interested, are a few I've liked so far:

What is that expression, Ian?

Yeah, this happened a lot: someone blocked my view of Spencer. Usually it ended up being Dallon or Brendon's crotch, and I deleted the photo. Here, at least it's zoomed out enough to see the broader picture.

Ian looks like he's concentrating very hard. Somehow, I doubt it. He spent most of both shows being ridiculously bouncy.

They all look so happy to be performing, in comparison to some of the RBL shows a couple of years ago.

Yeah, IDK. Someone gave Brendon a hat, and he put it on before Sins. Ian looks pretty dubious about this whole situation.

And ended up giving it to Dallon. These two bring the groping and innuendo.

He's so far awaaaay. And I am terrible with a camera.

I took two videos. Look, I'm going to apologize now: I wasn't aiming for anyone's crotch, I was trying to keep my elbows on the barrier so the camera didn't bounce. But, yeah, sorry. I kept looking away from the camera to see them for real rather than on an itty-bitty screen, and each time, I'd end up letting the angle drop a little bit. I blame the stage, which is pretty high at the HOB, relatively speaking. Or myself for being the wrong height. IDK. Also, I had a hard time deciding whether to keep focusing on Brendon or look at Dallon. Either way, Nearly Witches and C'mon. (Oh, Nate.) As soon as they are done uploading (my internet connection is wicked slow tonight) I'll post the embeds.
4. I have two Ludo tickets in my wallet that are not mine.
shutyourface gets one - there's a receipt with her name on it. To whom does the other belong?
vic_ramsey?
playfullips? I just want to be sure I give them to the appropriate people when that date rolls around.

Date: 2011-06-17 05:21 am (UTC)How long do they think you'll be without Sasha?
Oh, and I guess Sandy and Dante didn't throw a major house party while yall were away at Bonnaroo. :)

Date: 2011-06-18 02:22 pm (UTC)Until the 28th, probably. :( I am spoilt, and I hate not having my EZ-Pass for the toll roads and my iPod doc - I don't have the right adapter for the rental's stereo, but I don't want to buy one that I'll only use for a few days.
No, but there were a couple of hairballs waiting to be cleaned up. :/

Date: 2011-06-18 02:24 pm (UTC)Ohhh, I didn't even think about you not having the EZ-Pass! I forget you have to navigate toll roads because that's such a foreign concept to me, lol. That is boooooooo. Is the damage all cosmetic? Nothing structural?

Date: 2011-06-18 02:30 pm (UTC)Mostly cosmetic - the axle's fine, but the fender, door, door hinges, and wheel all need to be replaced and realigned. Which, yeah, I figured - when I drove home, for the car to travel straight, I had to hold the steering wheel such that the cross bar that is usually straight across was turned at close to a 90 degree angle.

Date: 2011-06-18 02:25 pm (UTC)Seriously, so many shots of crotch. And occasionally a rear-end. Which, you know, after having them right there in front of me for two shows, I will say that Dallon has very nice thighs
although Ray Toro's got him beat. But that's not what I was trying to capture on my memory card. ;)no subject
Date: 2011-06-17 11:15 am (UTC)lol reading the comments above me. what a concept. :(
