I hate hotmail. I'm thinking of switching all my LJ-related stuff over to a gmail account. How hard is it to back up/save all the emails in my hotmail mailbox, anyone know?

MrIris has been way stressed about buy-out rumors the last month or so. Guess they really weren't something he needed to worry about.

If you haven't already filed your federal taxes, don't forget to fill in the line requesting the automatic refund for the telephone/war tax.

In one week I will be in NYC, hanging out with J, waiting to see The Colbert Report. *suppresses urge to squeal madly*

That means that in nine days, my butt will be planted on my bike seat, hopefully approaching LaGrange and the mid-way point of the MS150.

Want to know how much of your tax dollars go to fund the military? Go here. Angry about it? Go to the War Tax Resistance page and see what you can do.

Ooh... pretty. *stares*

Anyway, I'm so jealous. Have fun in NYC, babe!

Lucky I filed exempt last year. Right now, I don't make enough to pay taxes.

Eek! Good luck with the cycling. I definitely don't envy you that.

I obviously have far too much free time on my hands. :)

Don't even get me started about taxes. There's a rant just waiting to be spewed re: property taxes/school districts/colleagues who whine about deserving a bigger tax break because they have kids. Life is about choices. *cuts off rant before it can bloom*

Seriously. Course, my parents payed up to $700 a month throughout my school career for me to go to a parochial private school, so I figure the taxes are probably fairly reasonable in comparison. And really. Education is something I don't actually mind giving my tax dollars to.

No, I don't mind the fact that tax dollars go to education. A better educated society benefits all. What bothers me is that a few of our friends feel like they should pay reduced property taxes in comparison to single people or families without children because they have children to support. And if the majority of our tax dollars went to something else, I might agree with them. But since it goes mostly to the school district, I don't have much sympathy.

That's just asinine. If every person with children payed reduced property taxes, then the schools would fall into disrepair and things would become a mess. Well, more of a mess.
