Yesterday's free show for the Big Dance: perfect weather and good company, and other than the fact that a huge TV monitor blocked our view of Spencer Smith, Panic! At The Disco's set was ridiculously awesome. Seriously, they seem really delighted to be performing again. I can't wait for their summer tour. (For a more complete review, see [livejournal.com profile] shutyourface's entry. And [livejournal.com profile] eckerlilas posted pics, but under f-lock. ♥)

Two fandom-y things:

1. Why hasn't someone in GK fandom written fic centered around Brad Colbert's license loss, with him hitching a ride with someone (Mike?) to base every day, and then having someone (Ray, Nate, whoever rocks your world) pick him up each evening?

2. This pic deserves Ivy League grad student fic, y/n?

Ugh. Feeling sort of hungover and blah, and still cranky about the "GA" tickets that were the only choice for tickets in the Chris Cornell presale. It wouldn't've been a big deal if the venue set up the floor as they usually do. But the entire floor where the pit usually is was seated reserve, the upper level by the FOH was seated reserve, and the balcony was seated reserve as usual, leaving the area by the door, by the merch booth, and up underneath the overhang behind the seated reserve (where the sound is actually really shitty) as the only GA. Fuck you, Live Nation and House of Blues. Fuck you.

Really not feeling the drive to Austin for the PWTs.

how did Brad lose his license?

I would not say no to more fic about Bden and his breathplay kink.

Boo for shitty GA situation for Chris Cornell. And the phones not cooperating (which may have been on both ends b/c mine was being crappy last night about connecting incoming calls?) for concert calls. And for hangovers.

I woke up with PWTs stuck in my head the other morning and could not, for the life of me, figure out why.

Speeding tickets. There was a post a while back of a presentation RL!Brad made about dealing with PTSD/adrenaline issues, and he used his addiction to speed as an example, mentioning how much he owed in speeding tickets and how he'd had his license revoked.

Mostly I'm angry that GA was the only thing available in the fan presale, and at that time there was nothing mentioned on the HOB website about how the venue was going to be set up, so I figured it was going to be the normal set up. If I had known, I would not have purchased those tickets. It seems like punishing fans for being good fans, you know?

I actually didn't drink that much - three beers over five hours - so I don't know why I feel like shit. Except I also didn't really eat or drink water, and I spent the whole day standing or walking, so it's probably a combination of things.

ohh. Brad. But that actually makes sense.

Yeah, that does seem like a punishment. They could have given you the option to buy tickets in ANY section during presale, or at least let you know what the other seating options were. That's bs.

Yeah, the not drinking and no water probably have something to do with it. Plus, I'm guessing it was hot?

1. There is NASCAR on my TV, lol. Since I was too exhausted to go back to the track today even though someone offered me an extra ticket.

2. ... you shouldn't have told me that. I won't get ANYTHING done now, lol. *hearts*

Well, okay, now that I'm thinking about it, I also had a double tall vodka tonic. That probably didn't help things.

I read one fic. I'm rationing them, since there isn't that much happening in GK fandom lately. :)

I have nothing better to do, so I'm starting at the first one posted and working my way through them. Lol. The one gifted to your sister is pretty awesome. :)

(although I already hit one that I'm meh about and I'm worried that I can take a guess at who the author is and I had to come up with something nice to say because it's an exchange and I didn't even participate but overall I think the scale of awesomeness is definitely going to tip in our favor in this exchange!)

;) You know you want that fic too!

Also, THANK YOU for your efforts organizing the Spring Fling. I couldn't participate b/c March was a bad month for me, but I'm really glad to have all that new fic to read. I'm rationing - one fic per day. (I was very sad when LJ was down during my lunchbreak yesterday b/c I had planned to read then.)

How dare that TV set block Spencer? >:((( I'm glad you girls had such a great time! I was giggling all through Lesa's post.

How does that GK fic not exist? It would be amazing, Brad would be so grumpy.

Every time tour starts up again, I remember: Zack is awesome.

Also, I'm still pondering the organizers' choice to put Discos and KoL on the same bill. I mean... really? But I guess they probably don't follow band gossip, so they'd have no idea.

Seriously, Brad would be so cranky about it! And Mike probably wouldn't mind picking him up - it's on his way, no problem - but he picks up his daughter after softball practice on his way home, and that's out of the way and Brad doesn't want to inconvenience him further. Ray wouldn't care about picking Brad up - it's no different than hauling his ass all over Iraq in that falling-to-shit victor of theirs - but Brad... doesn't like not having his bike.
