+ ♥_♥: Tim McIlrath cites Howard Zinn and Ayn Rand when discussing Appeal To Reason.

But thumbs down to punknews.org not having a copy editor educated enough to recognize the mistake in this sentence: In terms of the fact that you’re career in Rise Against feeds your family is there something about that that’s brought the music to a new level.

+ I wore my ferrous wheel shirt today, and people at work didn't get it. And then hung out at the bar with a group of chemists, biochemists, and engineers, and there were still people who didn't get it. *facepalm*

+ Apparently buying pre-sale tickets to see Metallica entitled me to a download of mp3s of their show here in Houston. And I'm always willing to share, so have them doing One, live at the Toyota Center.

+ It amuses me that iTunes automatically added the exclamation mark to Panic(!) At The Disco's name when I loaded Live In Chicago, as it did not for Pretty.Odd. THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO DECIDE THEIR OWN PUNCTUATION!

That's a cute shirt; it amuses me that people you work with didn't get it, omg.

I am totally skimming my flist and marking a gazillion things "toberead" instead of finishing my homework for A&P tomorrow. *fail* although, to be honest, the quiz tomorrow is on simple stuff that I really don't think I'm gonna have a problem with. Still! Tell me to do my homework!

Also, I'm working 10 hour days again this week. SO MUCH SUCK. :(

oh, plus? there is porn in the middle of my homework, and randomly written across the top of one of the pages is "you are a weaver of lies!" WTH?

Porn you wrote, or randomly appearing porn?

Date: 2008-12-09 04:42 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] why-me-why-not.livejournal.com
lol. porn I wrote, although I possibly wouldn't say no to randomly-appearing porn, depending on what exactly it was, y'know? But my notes are like:

blahblahblah What is the difference between simple and stratified epithelial tissue? blahblahblah Three functions of the plasma membrane blahblahblah It's easier to let go and relax when Jon's tongue is back, running under, over, between his fingers, and Brendon thinks that maybe the slight huff of breath means Jon's laughing at him, at the noises he's making and the way he's squirming under Jon's ministrations, but he doesn't really care. blahblahblah Describe the processes of diffusion and filtration.

Seriously, this is what my A&P notes look like. And it's not even good porn!

girl!Bren/Alexandra Marshall/Ian porn?

how much do I love that you made Marshall a girl in the girl!Bren 'verse? lol. I totally wanna read that, hand it over! (even though I thought you said you weren't gonna write that story line, huh? *g*)

I wasn't! I'm not! It's not written, just in my head. But I'm not getting anything else done, so I might plot it out.

lol. it's okay, Crys totally had me writing fic the other day wherein Brendon accidentally becomes the first member of panic to procreate. We fail at following the rules and finishing things! But at least we do it together!

OMG, I can't even imagine. Actually, I was thinking today (don't ask why) that Zack would be an awesome dad, just because he's so used to herding kittens the Panic boys, and I started imagining an "older sibling" type reaction on their parts.

11:05 PM Ash: Who is the first panic member to procreate?
11:08 PM me: Brendon, and it's totally an accident. I mean, obviously not a complete accident, but he was really really drunk (and the girl had hips that reminded him of Spencer and spoke with a slight lisp like Jon and wore funky scarves like Ryan -- none of which he thought of until Pete brought it up) and yes, Patrick, he did use a condom, but still... it was a random hookup and the girl doesn't want anything to do with him or the baby, which is fine by Brendon b/c he doesn't want anything to do with her after the baby's born, but he totally totally wants the baby.

(there's more to it, it was a great way to avoid doing any actual work, lol)

Awww, Zack would totally be an awesome dad! And the boys would totally be so excited about it (although Brendon would be all quiet around their temporary not-Zack minder b/c it'd feel like betrayal to befriend him) and they would be seriously adorable.

completely unrelated: I'm watching Live In Chicago again. I want a moodtheme composed entirely of Bden making random faces in the microphone.

Also? Now that Spencer has shaved, I sort of want the beard back.

I do believe it'd be possibly to have such a moodtheme. Oh Bden!!

And YES! I thought that yesterday when I saw a pic of him! wth?

I work with some seriously deficient scientists, that's all I can say. My sister, who is a lawyer with a background in linguistics, got the shirt for me because she thought it was funny. HOW CAN SCIENTISTS NOT GET IT?

The ferrous wheel shirt just cracked me up. How did people not get it?

One person was like, "Iron circles? Iron two?"

Me: "What's the other term for iron(II)?"

Her: "Uh..."

If were her inorg prof, I'd STILL be headdesking.

Date: 2008-12-09 11:49 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] angela-snape.livejournal.com
But "ferrous" isn't the currently accepted name, is it? It's iron (II)... Maybe that's why nobody got it. *shrugs*

I, on the other hand, had a good laugh over it, and thought of at least three people I'd want to buy it for.

We teach both, and I'd expect a chemist to know both. I was just sort of surprised that so many science-types were clueless.

Aah, that shirt amuses me ♥ I don't know if 'ferrous' would occur to me immediately, but I think I'd get it eventually?

also... you're? Wow. Epic fail.

My 12 year old has the ferrous wheel shirt. It cracks him the hell up.

Tell your co-workers that. ;)

I don't get people who don't get it...
