thread the needle through

I meant to post something about SXSW, but I'm tired and half-drunk off some really excellent carmenere, so I'm just going to laugh about the teenies who ended up next to me at the BRMC show the other night.
They didn't know ANY of Band of Skulls' music or BRMC's catalog other than - yes, you guessed it - Done All Wrong, from the New Moon soundtrack. Which BRMC did not perform. They spent the entire show looking bored and uninterested. Srsly, I understand spending a long evening at the barrier if you're really into a headliner but don't care about the opening acts. But GTFO of the barrier if you're not interested in anything but one song. SRSLY.

They did that. And my favorite, 666 Conducer. And they worked The Line into Shadow's Keeper. Leah Shapiro is a goddess. I might've spent the majority of the set ogling her. Possibly.
Plus, signed set-lists are always a bonus. :D

Date: 2010-03-23 04:17 am (UTC)I'm sorry I didn't text or email at all today, but work was ridiculous - mostly b/c I was out Thursday and Friday, and I have to present lab meeting tomorrow. I'm hoping things'll even out Wednesday. Hopefully? :D?

Re: touring. I can see where that'd be a problem. But there's a really really simple way to get the unicorns to lay off, Max. REALLY SIMPLE.

Date: 2010-03-23 04:35 am (UTC)Actually it's a feminist retelling of The Little Mermaid so while Van Creep is probably the prince, The Little Maxmaid wants to be a human for love of MUSIC - because you can't play guitar under water! And he has until the sun sets on the third day to form a band without actually being able to play any instruments as long as he's on land.
... yeah I thought this through a LOT.

Date: 2010-03-23 02:50 pm (UTC)I know probably they already knew each other and Tom had heard Sean sing with For The Birds, but I like to think that they were total strangers and Tom just thought Sean LOOKED like someone who should be in a band with him.
