I am sure that most of these will not surprise you:

1. mutual pining followed by a lightbulb-moment of realization (usually catalyzed by BFF conversation)
2. Big Misunderstanding because of miscommunication (or no communication) followed by pining and then reuniting
3. Spencer is smooth and awesome in bed / Spencer is a caretaker and always in control
4. Brendon is amazing at blowjobs
5. May I list one that always makes me roll my eyes, but I read anyway? first-time-together sex is amazing and awesome and ends in either simultaneous orgasms or, if one partner is female, multiple orgasms *followed* by simultaneous ones

Ahahaha, re: 3/4 did you see reni_days' bunny where Brendon is actually terrible at sex because he has really only ever slept with fans, and has no idea what he's doing? And Spencer's like "...whoa, what just happened?" when they first sleep together. I would read that FOREVER.

I just saw that. I would LOVE that fic.

My personal canon for Brendon isn't that he's bad at sex, exactly, but that he has a TON of issues. He went from an LDS family where talking about sex wasn't done and having sex before marriage was DEFINITELY not done, to a really permissive atmosphere with people like Ryan (and his jailbate iam_clandestine picture-posting ass) as his only authorities. Audrey and Lana and groupie interactions probably did nothing to help him learn appropriate sexual behavior for a long-term relationship, beyond any other emotional or social issues (which, IDK, as the youngest son in a big LDS family, I sort of expect he would have). Sarah put a lot of thought into being serious about him, and she's putting just as much effort into breaking him of the bad habits he learned before.


In fic, of course, this translates to Spencer being the one who helps him work through his issues. Like, IDK, I'd LOVE to read fic where when they first got together Brendon's awkward and sort of inhibited, but then when they've been together long enough and he gets comfortable, he's not so wigged out about his preferences and he becomes more exploratory.

If anyone wanted to write fic about the first time Brendon was aggressive enough that Spencer could just lie back and let Brendon have control, and Spencer can just enjoy everything that Brendon is doing to him, up to and including the point where he rolls the condom onto Spencer and rides him to exhaustion? Yeah, I'd read that every day and twice on Sundays.

Ohhhhh, that would be great! I'd want someone to write the whole buildup, though. For some reason "secret virgin" trips every one of my embarrassment squick buttons, but "Brendon gets better and more confident in bed with Spencer" is fine.

I know a bunch of rumors about Brendon that various fans and friends-of-friends have reported to me -- why? I DON'T KNOW -- and I feel pretty confident saying he could definitely use a mentor. In bed.

See, it all comes back to #3. Spencer is smooth and controlled and a caretaker, so he's perfectly willing to fall on that sword, to be the person Brendon needs to help him figure out his shit.


Yeah, I've heard such rumors. There are some things that I just do not want to know. Not just about them, but about anyone who I'm not having sex with. It's not helpful to know IRL ("Hey, hi, sorry you're so bad at sex and have an XYZ fetish, how've you been lately?"), and it interferes with my ability to write whatever comes to mind. And you can't UNHEAR it.

I would read that story 9 times a day and 10 times on Sundays. It is basically everything I love about Brendon and Spencer.

Relevant icon is relevant. Luckily nothing I've heard about him has ruined my perception of him as a person, like some other people in bandom. Damn them for being real people, anyway. They are mostly stupid, and things I can file under "lol, Brendon. Grow up."

The top five annoying students you've worked with.

1. Classmate A. He was really book-smart, but unbelievably lazy and all thumbs in lab. And arrogant. He went to MIT, you know. And Wisconsin was his fall-back grad school. *rolls eyes* I hated it when he joined the same lab that I did, and I ended up spending years being alternately angry with him and feeling sorry for him.

2. Student K, whose answer to being told how to do anything was, "I know, I know," even when she clearly didn't. And then she would proceed to do things her way, which was usually wasteful, if not completely wrong.

3. Student R. Seriously, if you want to be DJ, what the hell are you doing in grad school for chemistry? Because you are clearly not putting any effort into it.

4. Student A (when I was a post-doc). He was the epitome of conservative Republican LDS man-of-the-house, and thought it should translate in lab. I don't fucking think so.

5. Student S, who was so very unmotivated that it took four years to earn her MS. Full-time. (Theoretically.)

1. When he tells his mother and Sammy he doesn't want to stay in the land of genie, although that is the happiest we see him.

2. When he sells his soul to bring back Sammy, his expression when he sees him again makes this part perfect.

3. When he's snarky to Sam about being hit by a car in groundhogs day. First he thinks it's would look cool. Then he's indignate that when Sam tells him he pee'd himself. - lol -

4. Dean being all overly nervous when he has to board a plane to catch the demon in Phantom Traveler.

5. When he gets ticked off at Cas, when Cas refuses to help him keep Lilith away from Sammy.
