Day 2: My favorite movie.
Rocky Horror Picture Show - I can't even list all the reasons I love this movie. My mom introduced me to it, if you can believe it. The music, the costumes, the story. The little things, like Magenta and Riffraff being the caretakers at the chapel at the beginning, and looking so American Gothic.
(This should stream the entire movie, if you've never seen it before. Is there really anyone in the world who hasn't seen this movie? Or anyone in a slash fandom, anyway?
A really close second: Bull Durham. Kevin Costner (back when he was hot) + baseball. What's not to love? Also? Best monologue EVER in the "I believe" speech.
It amuses me that Susan Sarandon is in both of these movies, because I'm not a particular fan of her work. In fact, I found her remarks about not seeing how RHPS was a big deal a bit disingenuous. But whatever, both still guaranteed to make me smile after a long day.
Excuse me, I have to go watch the NJ Devils come back against the Canucks.
