I just started re-reading Lightning Wave's Sacrifices series, which is a Slytherin Harry AU.

It reminds me how very much I miss the plotting involved in HP fanfic.

It was my reward for sweeping, vacuuming, and weeding the flower beds this morning.

Now I'm going to see District 9, and then brave the grocery store and Spec's. The wine fridge is looking bare.

Oh god, no. I may not have been around then, but I've heard about that crazy bitch from about 20 different people, lmao!

The thing I don't understand is why everyone loved her fics to begin with. I came to Harry/Draco late, and when I read the first in that trilogy after being rec'd with such high praise, I was like, "What? This isn't that good." and stopped reading.

When the allegations of plagiarism came out later, I was annoyed, but what annoys me more is that her novels sell now, and the publishing community's attitude is that it doesn't matter that she plagiarized, because it was just fanfiction. Because stealing and cheating only matters when you're getting paid for it? I believe there are college professors and employers who would disagree with (and expel or fire you for) that sentiment.

I hate it when something is super heavily recc'ed and then it sucks! Sometimes I think that I have insanely high standards when it comes to fic, though.

No kidding. Even beyond the plagiarism, I can't believe that anyone would pay for the misfortune of reading her tripe.
