+ I love The Cab, but I don't know how anyone was surprised that Ian and Cash and the Alexes would part ways. [livejournal.com profile] why_me_why_not and I have discussed this before: Ian's musical interests clearly lay in a different direction from Alex DeLeon's. One wants to be Jimmy Page when he grows up, the other wants to be Justin Timberlake. There's nothing wrong with either desire, but they are not necessarily compatible. It's sad, but it's better that it happen amicably now than acrimoniously later.

+ There are tickets for Bonnaroo IN MY HANDS. I am, in fact, petting them and calling them my preciousssss at this very moment. It makes typing difficult.

+ You'd think family would get it right. But no. We received a check from my dad for his ACL tickets addressed to Heather Sanders. Which is not my name. I did not take MrIris's last name. Never planned to. Never considered it. Never even came up in conversation. I had a credit history in my name; I published with my name; my degree was granted to me with my name. Why should I change it to follow an antiquated tradition? I understand that casual acquaintances might not know that if they're introduced to us by our first names. But family members? Really?

+ Link courtesy of J: I find this cake disturbing on multiple levels. First because it doesn't really even look like him, but second because you'd be eating his face. (eta: this just appeared at the PATD comm, even as I was posting)

+ Ian can totally be in a Real Band now, yes? :P (seriously, I'm thinking this is probably a good thing.)

+ YAY! Finally, lol. When is Bonnaroo? B/c you won't be around for several days, right?

+ Your dad, really? hahaha.

+ someone on my flist linked that cake this morning. I don't even know what to say...

+ I think it probably is. Plus, I sorta figure that now that Ian's on Pete's radar, it's not like his talent will be lost in the abyss, you know?

+ It is June 11-14. I am taking my phone, but I don't know how the battery will hold up.

+ Seriously. We also just got the official invitation to his sister's wedding, and it's addressed to Aaron and Heather Sanders. Which, you know, I get that it's to us as a couple. But my mom and sister manage to send stuff to both of us with our full names.

+ It is a disturbing cake. It doesn't really look like ANY of them; you only know it's him because it's clearly eating something, and we all know that Brendon is the one with an oral fixation with or without the photo to remind us.

+ He is ridiculously talented, I'm pretty confident he won't be lost. Maybe he's gonna go make his film debut in a musical; that can totally be Shane and Spencer's Secret Project! :P

+ Ah okay. We're going camping that weekend so I won't have my phone anyways, lol.

+ I could maybe see letting it slide on something like an invitation addressed to both of you. But not Heather Sanders on something that's meant for just you. Now I wanna send yall a card addressed to Heather and Aaron Carr...

+ It is! Also, Bden + his oral fixation, hahaha. I love that boy. (I have tix to see patd in Aug, yay!)

Because I took the cats to the vet, everything was under my name. Last time, Aaron took them, so we got the summary of their treatment and it was addressed to Aaron Carr. I maybe smirked a little when he pouted about it. Possibly.

Yay for PATD tix! We're going to try to get tickets for Chicago and Detroit, but it seems like half the world wants to see those shows, and I'm not really willing to travel that far if they're not pit tickets, so we'll see. If not, we still have the Panic/No Doubt show (with bonus Maja Ivarsson!) in San Diego.

Haha.

I'm going to Ohio b/c Krystal has never seen FOB and b/c I have actually NEVER MET HER IN PERSON which is ridiculously sad. Plus, it's a date that both FOB & Panic are playing, which is awesome. We don't have pit tix, but I'm okay with that. Me & Harley & Johnathan are going to go to Charlotte too, but the deciding factor in that is that AAR'll be there. And I think we're getting lawn tix b/c the pit there is the size of a postage stamp.

When do tix go on sale for Chicago & Detroit?

Date: 2009-06-02 04:38 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] asimplechord.livejournal.com
Presale is Wednesday for all three of them. Regular sale is Saturday. IDK, they didn't sell pit for the pre- or regular sale for Dallas: they were all part of VIP packages that cost $220/person. I'm not feeling optimistic about the Chicago or Detroit shows. I'd go to the Houston show without a pit ticket b/c it's Houston, and it's not a big deal. But if I'm flying somewhere, it has to be for a damn good view.

Oh, totally. I don't blame you. We have actually seat-seats for Cincinatti (idk where, Krystal bought the tix) but they were only $55 each, which isn't bad at all compared to what I've been hearing. That's shitty that they didn't have pit tix outside of the VIP pkgs. What else is included in those, b/c that's a rather ridiculous price?

Access to the "VIP lounge", a laminated VIP pass, a limited edition numbered poster, and the pit ticket. Seriously? For that much money, I want to be seated on the side of the stage with a clear view of Brendon and Spencer, Patrick and Pete, and Mark and Travis.

yeah, wtf? that's insane.

unrelated, but the place where we have tickets to see WTK & ATL next month, they apparently have a restaurant next door and if you have a meal at the restaurant before the show, you get let in 15 minutes before doors...

:DD That's awesome! I'm bummed that they're not coming to TX for this tour. Actually, is the Boys Like Girls, TAI, Gym Class tour coming near you? I know it's mostly east coast, but I can't remember how far south it went.

J is going to that show. I poked her when I saw the dates on Beckett's blog a few weeks ago.

OK, random: my iTunes icon was bouncing in the dock, so I went to check it. Apparently I preordered the Taking Back Sunday album ages ago? And since it's officially Tuesday on the east coast, it automatically downloaded the new release.

I have no memory of ordering this album. I'm sure I *did*, because I like TBS. But still.

From: [identity profile] why-me-why-not.livejournal.com
haha. iTunes read your mind and just knew you wanted the TBS album. (I want the TBS album, Heather! *grabby hands*)

That's funny that it didn't wait until it was officially Tuesday in your time zone though.

here (http://www.sendspace.com/file/q7gyka). I didn't do anything to it, so I hope Apple really isn't doing the DRM locking still.

Ohh, one more thing, re I love The Cab, but I don't know how anyone was surprised that Ian and Cash and the Alexes...

THE CASH ALEX BAND NO LONGER HAS EXTRA IAN! They need another Alex. Alex Greenwald totally plays the guitar, right? :P

HAhahahaha, J suggested that they needed another Alex when I told her.

I'm uploading the TBS. Slowwwww...

They totally do need another Alex! It'd make SO MUCH SENSE. As much as anything regarding The Cab ever does, lol. I think they're coming to Raleigh on their summer tour, but Idk if I really wanna travel down there to see them.

They'll be in Houston early in August. I'll see them here, but I don't think I'll follow them to Austin or anything. Partly because it'll be in the middle of the week and partly b/c that's the week we're supposed to go to Tahoe for the wedding (and possibly to San Diego for the Panic/The Sounds/No Doubt show).

I don't have that luxury, they're not gonna come here, lol. (but Staind & Shinedown is coming next month; I'm trying to win tix, lol)
