hold me and watch the apocalypse

+ I love The Cab, but I don't know how anyone was surprised that Ian and Cash and the Alexes would part ways.
why_me_why_not and I have discussed this before: Ian's musical interests clearly lay in a different direction from Alex DeLeon's. One wants to be Jimmy Page when he grows up, the other wants to be Justin Timberlake. There's nothing wrong with either desire, but they are not necessarily compatible. It's sad, but it's better that it happen amicably now than acrimoniously later.
+ There are tickets for Bonnaroo IN MY HANDS. I am, in fact, petting them and calling them my preciousssss at this very moment. It makes typing difficult.
+ You'd think family would get it right. But no. We received a check from my dad for his ACL tickets addressed to Heather Sanders. Which is not my name. I did not take MrIris's last name. Never planned to. Never considered it. Never even came up in conversation. I had a credit history in my name; I published with my name; my degree was granted to me with my name. Why should I change it to follow an antiquated tradition? I understand that casual acquaintances might not know that if they're introduced to us by our first names. But family members? Really?
+ Link courtesy of J: I find this cake disturbing on multiple levels. First because it doesn't really even look like him, but second because you'd be eating his face. (eta: this just appeared at the PATD comm, even as I was posting)

Date: 2009-06-02 04:08 am (UTC)+ It is June 11-14. I am taking my phone, but I don't know how the battery will hold up.
+ Seriously. We also just got the official invitation to his sister's wedding, and it's addressed to Aaron and Heather Sanders. Which, you know, I get that it's to us as a couple. But my mom and sister manage to send stuff to both of us with our full names.
+ It is a disturbing cake. It doesn't really look like ANY of them; you only know it's him because it's clearly eating something, and we all know that Brendon is the one with an oral fixation with or without the photo to remind us.

Date: 2009-06-02 04:23 am (UTC)+ Ah okay. We're going camping that weekend so I won't have my phone anyways, lol.
+ I could maybe see letting it slide on something like an invitation addressed to both of you. But not Heather Sanders on something that's meant for just you. Now I wanna send yall a card addressed to Heather and Aaron Carr...
+ It is! Also, Bden + his oral fixation, hahaha. I love that boy. (I have tix to see patd in Aug, yay!)

Date: 2009-06-02 04:27 am (UTC)Yay for PATD tix! We're going to try to get tickets for Chicago and Detroit, but it seems like half the world wants to see those shows, and I'm not really willing to travel that far if they're not pit tickets, so we'll see. If not, we still have the Panic/No Doubt show (with bonus Maja Ivarsson!) in San Diego.

Date: 2009-06-02 04:32 am (UTC)I'm going to Ohio b/c Krystal has never seen FOB and b/c I have actually NEVER MET HER IN PERSON which is ridiculously sad. Plus, it's a date that both FOB & Panic are playing, which is awesome. We don't have pit tix, but I'm okay with that. Me & Harley & Johnathan are going to go to Charlotte too, but the deciding factor in that is that AAR'll be there. And I think we're getting lawn tix b/c the pit there is the size of a postage stamp.
When do tix go on sale for Chicago & Detroit?

Date: 2009-06-02 04:47 am (UTC)unrelated, but the place where we have tickets to see WTK & ATL next month, they apparently have a restaurant next door and if you have a meal at the restaurant before the show, you get let in 15 minutes before doors...
