♥ Amanda fucking Palmer

Not so much the loud drunk women next to us, who were so obnoxious that even AP asked them to shut up.

I don't even have the right adjectives to describe her. I've totally got A hooked on her now - this afternoon as we were driving, he asked if I had my iPod with me, and if I had any of her music on it, and could I hook it up to his car's stereo. And would I please burn him copies of the CDs. :DDD

I did not know their music at ALL before last night - I got the tickets for Amanda Palmer - but I am a fan now.

Oh god, were you standing next to her? Poor thing. That was an amaaazing show though. :D

SHE SPILLED HER DRINK DOWN MY LEG. I WAS NOT AMUSED. Luckily, I had a skirt and flipflops on, so it wasn't a big deal - the other person who got spilled on got it all down the back of her jeans. (When the couple went to the bar to get another drink, the other victim complained, and the bouncer escorted them... elsewhere.)

I always seem to be standing next to those obnoxiously drunk people at events too. *sigh*

How was the rest of the show?

It was amaaaaazing. The venue was the smaller room at the House of Blues, the Bronze Peacock. Its capacity is maybe 300 or 400 people? So there was no bad spot in the place, and the sound was pretty good.

I didn't know Vermilion Lies' music at all, but they were very entertaining, and they fit with the style of music that Amanda Palmer performs. Plus, I might've flailed a little when she opened with Astronaut, and again when she did Coin-Operated Boy.

I remember hearing Coin-Operated Boy on our way to Cincinnati and commented it was probably the dumbest song, and couldn't believe it was a song. Although, I couldn't get the melody out of my head all weekend, even though I didn't know the words. So Wolfie downloaded it for me when we got home. LOL - It is a cool song. First impressions are not always accurate.

Show sounds awesome, even with the lunatics.

The tune is very catchy, and it DOES stick in your head once you've heard it. It's easy to miss any underlying meaning. MrIris said it was "catchy, but not very original" at first, but I printed out the lyrics, and I'm curious to see what he thinks after he reads them.

That was definitely how I got to like the song.

I'm sorry I missed you! We were sort of in the middle/back, b/c my husband does not like to be in the press of the crowd. Which ended up be a lose/lose situation, in this case.

Are you going to the Scout Bar tomorrow to see Sing It Loud?

I'd like to but it is pretty much going to depend on the sitter situation, as always.
