Feb. 26th, 2009 08:29 pmGah. I could bitch about work - moving BLOWS, but it's done now, and I just have to deal with the aftermath - about rodeo people not knowing how to use public transport, or about how I've worked 33 of the last 72 hours.
But I'm just going to say this: MY NEW OFFICE HAS WINDOWS.
(If you've never worked in a room that has no exposure to natural light, you have no idea why I find this so exciting. Until I worked here, though, I had *always* had a lab space with windows, and I didn't realize how depressing our lab space was until I'd been here a while.)
♥ Tabby for texting me fic.
♥ fangirls seeing Push at the Alamo
♥ tomorrow is Friday, and I am not working another 12 hour workday
♥ last night's episode of Criminal Minds

Date: 2009-02-27 03:50 am (UTC)Ah, yes. When I first started at Monash, I worked in the Sub-Dean's Office which was situated on the "Lower Ground Floor". Wonderful terminology, that one. :) There were days, I'd come out of work and think things like "Oh! It must've been raining all day!"...
Congrats on teh glass. :)

Date: 2009-02-27 04:01 am (UTC)When it snowed here this winter, friends elsewhere on campus called and told me it was snowing, and I responded, "Yeah, whatever, you're just kidding me because you know I can't tell from our labs."
But when I left work for the evening, I saw that it really WAS snowing. :)
The worst part of being in the interior part of the building was that in an energy-saving effort the facilities folks decided to turn off every other fluorescent light panel in the hallway ceilings. So not only are there no windows, there isn't much artificial light, either. Unbelievably depressing, that area is. Plus, TERRIBLE air quality. I'm really looking forward to the new lab space, even if there must be some adjusting to having everyone in a single common area.

Date: 2009-02-27 04:14 am (UTC)There was a Ground Floor AND a Basement, and then the Lower Ground somehow in-between them. I suspect some form of wizarding space was involved. ;)

Eeek! What does it mean for music? Will you be subjected to other peoples'?
