10 Nov 2008, the night that both the Sassyback Tour and Rock Band Live had nothing scheduled, and according to Gabe were in the same city...

What city were they in? I know they were in Florida - RBL had just finished a series of dates there, and their Louisiana date was canceled, so they had a couple of days to go to the beach and such, and Cobra were on their way from Houston to their gig in Tampa. So. Tampa? Orlando, Panic's last date? Elsewhere?

[livejournal.com profile] why_me_why_not said Bden/JWalk, Baltimore, tshirt. She got this:

Brendon doesn't know much about professional sports, but he's learned that April means the beginning of baseball season. Jon spends hours tracking scores, trying to catch games and broadcasts of Baseball Tonight, keeping up with the Cubs. So when they have a day off between DC and Philadelphia on their spring tour, he checks around. Both their teams are out on roadtrips, but -- okay, Baltimore plays a home series against Chicago that week.

It's like fate or something!

It takes pleading and promises of good behavior, but Zack and the tour manager book them into a hotel at the Inner Harbor. Pete knows someone who knows someone, and offers to get them a box at the club level, but Brendon's heard Jon rant about the corporatizing of baseball and "experiencing the game" from the stands, so he declines. Still, he gets them good seats, right behind the visitors' dugout.

He's really excited about his surprise.

They sleep late and take advantage of room service, but by noon Jon starts making noises about the sunshine and the water, his camera and a tourmap in hand, his Wrigley t-shirt peaking out from under his hoodie.

Brendon brandishes the envelope with the tickets, ripping it open as he tells Jon, "We have to be over at Camden Yards before seven tonight, to see the Baltimore Orioles play the Chicago--White Sox? What the hell?"

He expects disappointment, and he feels stupid that he forgot that the Cubs aren't the only team from Chicago, but when he looks, Jon is smiling googly-eyed at him.

They end up visiting the aquarium - turtles and rays and jellyfish! - and touring the U. S. S. Constellation, and Jon takes a whole memory stick of pictures while Brendon paddles around the harbor. At the Light Street Pavilion, they wander through the vendors' stalls, and they try raw oysters at Philips. Jon thinks they're good, but Brendon's only comment is a leered, "I've swallowed worse."

Jon drags Brendon into a shop near the exit before they head to the game. He asks the woman in the row behind them at the stadium to take their picture, and only friends on Jon's personal, locked blog ever see the photo. Tom gives Jon no end of grief about it, but Brendon thinks they look awesome in matching O's jerseys.

"I've swallowed worse."

You know he *totally* has swallowed worse. :D

The only reason they didn't get the bright orange jerseys was that Jon knew Ryan would make them mysteriously "disappear". Brendon really wanted the brightest shirts they could find. But they ended up with white jerseys with the #1 and the logo in flowing orange script, and when they saw the player whose number it was, Brian Roberts (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y124/irisgirl/1685-07-12-19-roberts.jpg), Brendon stopped complaining, and wondered if there were any way to get seats closer to second base next time.

HA! Brendon's reasons for not complaining about watching baseball are the same as mine, some of the guys are just hot.

They grope themselves IN PUBLIC and no one thinks it's weird. And they wear tight white pants, for his viewing pleasure. Baseball was MADE for guys like Bden!

Panic was in Orlando on the 9th & in Bossier City (LA) on the 11th. Cobra was in Houston on the 9th and St Petersburg on the 11th. That helps me NOT AT ALL! I'm not sure what fucking city they were in. Lemme ask my flist.

I DON'T KNOW!!! I am ready to start counting down the days! I filed my taxes tonight, yayes! That means next payday I can get plane tickets. After you and I figure out when I'm going and coming. :P

Yeah, I obviously don't know. I put up a post on my LJ. I keep finding references to it, but none that actually specify the city.

I can always just make the decision that they are in Tampa, or Clearwater, near Tampa, but actually on the Gulf instead of the Bay. B/c I can't picture Cobra going to Orlando, that'd be out of their way. But since Panic'd have a couple of days off, they'd maybe go hang out, get some beach time, whatever.

Well, we know panic went to the beach, b/c Zack said so, right? and there was maybe a picture? my memory is fuzzy. Do you need the name of the city right now, like are you writing shenanaginning in that city, or do we just need it before the final version of NSG?
