+ Every time I see the menu at the Hobbit Cafe, I have to giggle a little bit at Smaug's Delight. It makes me think of carleton97's Crunchy And Taste Good With Ketchup, and, well. *hands* Smaug. Avocados. (With onion rings, which ARE crunchy and DO taste good with ketchup.)

+ The Gourds were at the Continental Club last night, after the usual Friday night set by Molly and the Ringwalds. Ugh. Just. Usually I can deal with M&tR - they do bad 80's covers, and I'd probably be amused otherwise, but yesterday was a long day spent standing in the cold room, so really all I wanted was a place to sit, somewhere not directly under a fan blowing cold air on me, and a really big glass of wine. Or vodka. Whichever. Still, the Tiffany t-shirt and acid-washed jeans on the bassist? HAhahaha, went really well with the big red bandana dangling from his back left pocket. The Gourds then had technical difficulties with their set up and started pretty late, and performed for two hours. I have had my limit of Texas rockabilly for a while, I think.

+ Speaking of standing all day? Cold room work BLOWS. I really hope this replicate is consistent, and I can be done with this series of experiments.

+ It is nearly mid-day, and I am still sitting in sweats, curled up in a blanket on the sofa. Yay for weekends. I suppose I'll get my ass moving now.

I only just checked my phone and found the next few bits. Poor Spencer, so conflicted. :D OF COURSE I will look at them. I make no promises about a better title, though.

Smaug's Delight is smoked turkey, (almost a whole) sliced avocado, tomato, and cheese on toasted whole wheat. Mmmm. All the sandwiches I've had there (Bilbo the Magnificent, Gandalf, and some others I can't remember the names for) are yummy.

The title "green" doesn't make since especially since it's from a Brendon & Jon convo that isn't even going to go into my story, lol.

Y'know, I've never tasted an avacado? And I'm totally making you take me to the Hobbit Cafe next time I come visit. :)

Okay, I'm working on the story now. We're going to the hockey game in a bit though so I don't know if I'll get anything done.

Also? I will absolutely take you to the Hobbit Cafe if you come visit again. Or next time I'm on the east coast, I'll make a special trip to Salem, and bring some avocados with me. :)

Yeah, I'm playing with it now. But I can't decide if I should leave the customized comment page turned off or not. I like it, but sometimes people get annoyed by the custom formats.

If it were any other night, I probably would've been really excited, because even though that's not my favorite type of music, they're really good live. But I was tired and cold (cold!) and my back and feet hurt, and I was ready to go home by the time they hit the two-hour mark.

Mmm, onion rings are my favorite, even though they have no redeeming nutritional value at all, and are simply a delivery system for deep-fried batter and ketchup.

At least it was a Friday night. When the Foo Fighters were in Seattle last, they played FOREVER and all I could think about was the fact that I had to get up and go to work the next day.

I tend to do one worse and dip all my favorite fried foods in ranch dressing. So really, less than no redeeming nutritional value.

Ugh. I HATE that. When I went to Austin to see Panic et al., I had such an awesome time I didn't realize how late it was. Then I got home at 3am and had to get up for work the next morning. NOT A GOOD SCENE. But still totally worth it, if the show's good. :D

Better than using bleu cheese dressing, which MrIris likes. BLECH.
