It is half-time, so I flipped over to watch the VMAs. Time for random babble.
How is Katy Perry a "new" artist? She recorded her first album, admittedly a Christian/gospel one, in 2001.
The dudes in Tokio Hotel freak me out. More than just a little. Doll-like and plastic and scary, they are, especially the one with the really big hair.
ETA: YAY, Joe Hahn! (I think that's safe, as spoilers go.)
Also, how sad is it that when I saw Shia LaBeouf, all I could think of was
gigantic's fic, Your Fingerprints Like A Code?
Dear Kid Rock,
Warren Zevon and Skynyrd are classics, and are not well served by your fucked-up sampling.

Date: 2008-09-08 02:19 am (UTC)Is it bad I'm just watching the VMAs for the random seconds where we get to see our boys? And Ashlee, who is kinda adorable?

Date: 2008-09-08 02:25 am (UTC)I... could do with less Pete Wentz, to be entirely honest. I like him in very small doses. Preferably blogged ones, or ones where he has a bass in his hands and Patrick is at the mic.
I'm recording the VMAs so I can watch in entirety later. Or just speed through to the bits where bands I want to see are on screen.

That's a good idea. I wish I could skip through half of this shit. I'm really, really the opposite of impressed with the host.

But someday they're going to want privacy, and I feel like they've courted publicity and used their relationship for public moments like this, and thus abdicate their right to complain about paparazzi and lack of privacy later. Dunno.

I totally forgot about the VMAs. Then again, I'm pretty sure I don't even have the channel for them. Hope I didn't miss any epic wardrobe malfunctions or anything while I was off watching Supernatural on DVD...

Didn't watch the VMAs but I couldn't agree more. Caught my daughter singing this horrible sample and I had to explain to her why this Yankee had screwed up two very beloved classics. When I played the originals, she informed me that the werewolf song was not the right one but the other one was really close. *headdesks*
