wendy posted this morning about the slash potential inherent in the US 4x100m freestyle team's celebration, and now it just won't get out of my head!

(As an aside, how close was Phelps's Speedo to falling off his ass and showing us all his junk on international television?)

No, seriously. Garrett Weber-Gale's casual squeeze of Michael Phelps's naked torso doesn't NEED slash-goggles, does it? Especially since, like, not a minute before, Phelps helped Weber-Gale by unzipping his Speedo. (I've got screencaps of it at home, but I am, sadly, at work. I'll add them when I get home tonight. For, you know, inspiration.)

And then she compared Phelps to Jared Padalecki (height, weight, wingspan), and now there's a J² swimming fic bunny in my head that won't go away.

J1 is a freshman at Michigan, competing at his first NCAA finals against J2, a senior Longhorn who's favored to win the 100m free and was supposed to anchor the 4x100 IM relay. If team and personal issues don't interfere.

I am going to have a phenomenally unproductive week (tonight's beer night, tomorrow's The Cab & The Hush Sound, Thursday's Melissa Etheridge), but then I go to Iowa, and I'll take my notebook and hopefully get some writing done.

I've got finals this week for this term. Fun. Not. Plus work is kicking my ass and Darryl is off this week. I'm meeting everyone at the Avalanche games after class tonight & tomorrow. Thursday is... something. Friday night I'm supposed to go out with Tinsley & Joey (her boyfriend Joey, not my brother's ex-wife Joey), and then Saturday is Billy Currington. And early early Sunday we're leaving. There is wifi, though, so I'll have internet access.

I've got pages and pages written! It's just all longhand and not typed up and I'm supremely lazy.

Mikey/Brendon is a MUST.

I was supposed to write j2 for alli's birthday, but that was Saturday and I forgot... I started it! It's on my phone, actually, b/c I didn't have my notebook when I got bunnied. I totally totally fail. :P
