asimplechord+ The summer student in the lab next door left the -80 freezer open for approximately an hour. And someone had silenced the high temp alarm. I am unfuckingamused, and so will everyone else be when they realize that their cells and their samples thawed. The thing that pisses me off most is that this lab isn't even in our department anymore, but they haven't moved to their new space and they asked if they could continue to use space in the common freezer (rather than moving to their new dept's common freezer, which is two floors up) until the move. If we have the courtesy to share, they should have the common sense to SHUT THE DAMN LID.
Also on the work complaints: the idiot not-really-a-postdoc deleted every piece of email from his Outlook Express. I don't even know how you do that. He said he was trying to change the color of something, and clicked the wrong button. What? And then he asked me to fix it. Sorry, dude, I think you're fucked. I hope you didn't have anything important in there. Like, oh, I don't know, a fuck-ton of DNA sequencing results.
+ I have a tan line on my ankles. Apparently repeated application of SPF30 isn't as good as I thought at protecting my skin.
+ Please to be shutting up about Chester Bennington becoming the lead singer of Velvet Revolver. He's got a pretty good gig with Linkin Park, and they just kicked off Projekt Revolution. Plus, his side project, Dead By Sunrise, just made their live-show debut.
I can't see it happening. He's refuted the rumors in statements to Kerrang, among other agencies. Also, Duff would have said during the radio interview this morning, wouldn't he? And all he said was they'd make a decision/know by tomorrow.
