It's just that Jon and Ryan are SO MUCH MORE OBVIOUS. Brendon's too high to talk, really. And Spencer is just standing there with his hips cocked, letting them do the talking for him: "OMG you guys, SHUT UP. You are SO HIGH, you're making us look like asses."

Jon's studied it. Seriously, scientific method and all. It last longest when Brendon's the one who blows him. Jon's pretty sure it's because Brendon can deep-throat, and he's got the best breath-control of all of them.

When Brendon finds Jon's notes and eventually deciphers them, he's impossibly smug for days. Jon can concede the right to smugness for a day or so, keeping Spencer relaxed and happy is no mean feat, but Brendon takes everything to the next level and smugness is no exception.

Jon would be pissed about that, but he's too high most of the time to get het-up about it. It's just Brendon. In the end, he and Ryan hotbox the bus bathroom on a night that he knows Brendon will be around, and takes great satisfaction in the whining Brendon does from the other side of the door about natural God-given gifts and unfairness and guitarists being mean. The complaints stop after a few sharp words in Spencer's voice, but Jon doesn't notice at first, because he and Ryan are busy making new designs in eyeliner on Ryan's cheekbone.

When they finally stumble out of the bathroom, intent on finding Brendon and sharing their weed-infused wisdom with him, Jon and Ryan are, well, not surprised, really. But they're really not expecting to find Spencer on the sofa in the back lounge, naked and sweaty and draped around Brendon, one arm holding him close even in sleep.
