my brain *was* full...

... of science facts. The Fourth Conference on Ubiquitin, Ubiquitin-Like Proteins, and Cancer began today. (I know, sounds riveting, right?)
My brain was full after about four hours. But I stayed for all ten of them. I have a feeling I'll be skipping out of some of the plenary sessions tomorrow and Saturday.
Maybe not, though. There's a vacancy - I emptied my head of science thoughts when we went to see The Bravery at the Warehouse.
Actually, there were five bands. Missed the first three. Seriously, the show was supposed to start at 8pm. We were there by 8:45, how did we miss three acts? I have no idea.
Anyway. Switches? Good sound, not so impressive lyrics. I was more entertained by the lead singer's totally overgrown emo hair than his vocals (except on Drama Queen). The jury's still out on them.
The Bravery = a good time, except for two horrendous moments of feedback. And I had to laugh when, at one point, their guitars weren't on.
If you haven't heard them, think of Robert Smith of The Cure's voice, but with less melancholy lyrics.
My ears are still ringing. And I'm reminded that I need to get to the venue early for the RRRGL show, because I hate being in the back of the club where I can't see things.

Date: 2008-02-08 07:19 am (UTC)There are no words to describe my jealousy. If it weren't A's birthday, for which I have planned a trip to Dallas to see his favorite hockey team, I would fly there just for that. That lineup! AAR, Armor for Sleep, MCR, etc.

Date: 2008-02-08 07:26 am (UTC)I've been all, *FLAPPY HANDS* since we started talking about going. Randomly. Throughout the day. In public places. We're all meeting up tomorrow to discuss things in depth. OMG.
I CANNOT EVEN BEGIN...
Ridiculous husbands having birthdays at the most inconvenient times, gees.
