U2 3D = a good time. It is not, as MrIris believes, a substitute for actually seeing them live, but still.

The camera work, the shots they chose to overlay, the performance. Oh, and whoever was mixing sound? BRILLIANT. Because Adam Clayton was audible and recognizable in every song. (How, btw, did I not realize before that he plays most songs w/o a pick?)

Bullet The Blue Sky is still my absolute favorite U2 song ever.

:D

Austin City Limits Festival tickets are on sale now. Just, you know, in case you weren't aware. The lineup hasn't been released, but that's alright. I'm sure there'll be a band or ten I we want to see.

Right now, the only band I know of that's coming to Seattle anytime soon (read: in the next 6 months) is Panic! At the Disco. I may have to go to that one, just for their stupid faces. Heh.

Oh, their stupid faces. :)

Jon Walker is the only real boy in that group, I swear.

[livejournal.com profile] why_me_why_not is coming to Houston for their show here, hopefully. *crosses fingers* There might be a couple of early admission tickets reserved for that very purpose. :)

He really is. Ryan Ross is particularly precious. Though he looks like he could grow up to be a real boy in 20 or 30 years. Brendan does not even have that. Spencer could possibly be a real boy if not for the influences of Ryan and Brendan.

Except, you know, I think he tried growing a beard to enhance the process? And it's heinous. Please, Spencer James Smith the Fifth, shave that pelt from your face. Just accept that you have round apple cheeks.

Okay. That line needs to be written in a fic. Rilly, rilly.

It even made BOB smile. For a CAMERA.

Bob didn't realize the camera was there or he'd never have done it. Seriously. It's hard enough intimidating journalists and photographers now that he's lost some mass from the MRSA infection, he totally didn't mean to give them an opening with that smile. But he couldn't help it. It was Spencer.

Gerard latches onto that smile for dear life and starts making increasingly ridiculous comments about the Panic! boys in an attempt to see it again. Bob practically stops smiling starting the day before and lasting until the day after a photoshoot. And Gerard misses Bob's smile on those days, so this one kind of feels like an unexpected present.

Frank catches on to Gerard's behavior, and he'd like to tease but he doesn't. He did pretty much the same thing to Mikey w/ respect to Fall Out Boy not that long ago, and he still goes out of his way to make Mikey happy, so he's got no room to poke fun. Instead, Frank helps, bringing up every outrageous thing he remembers from time spent with the Panic kids at Reading. It coaxes a huff of laughter and a smirk from Bob, and Frank and Mikey both savor the content happiness that lends Geeway.

At first, Gerard was so focused on Bob that he didn't notice what Frankie was doing. When he did notice, he made a mental note to by his best friend the largest amount of Coke Zero he could find all in one pack. Maybe even a Costco flat of the stuff. And he wouldn't even drink any of it. Gerard shot Frank a greatful grin and then turned back to Bob, beaming.

OT: I am flailing again

Here, about 2:25 in (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IosNVoXMLT4), GWay says they're going to tour through the States once more (after a month break from their South American dates) before they break/head back to the studio. YES.

*cough*

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

WHY don't I have a flaily icon? I clearly need one for this. CLEARLY.

I just flailed so epically I may or may not have flung my blackberry out of my hands.

OMG

It is tons of fun. We went a couple of years ago and had a blast, even though it felt like it was a thousand degrees and we got sunburned from being outside for three days. Totally worth the ticket price, given all the shows. But you gotta book your room/tent/whatever NOW, because they go fast!

Unfortunately, I can't go but I would love to see all the artists.
