I've gotten a little bit accomplished today:

-g'parents off to the airport
-xmas cards written and addressed until I was out of stamps
-all holiday gifts purchased except Mom's
-cleaned off my desk
-checked mailbox - there were cards from why_me_why_not and animehime! THANKS, GUYS!

I'm sitting here with a work file open, completely uninspired to finish my Snarry fest fic. It's due in 6 days, which means it needs to be finished NOW so it can be beta'd and submitted. But I'm feeling really blah about it.

Instead, I'm going to post the drabble I wrote for yodels and watch football w/ MrIris. Maybe if I do it with my laptop open, I'll get inspired? Maybe? Please? *crosses fingers*

Prompt: Ron Weasley, holiday music. 168 words.

Ron smiled at the Grangers and sipped at the eggnog Hermione'd handed him. He'd spent the evening greeting guests at their annual holiday party, and now that it was done, he could relax. No more worry about saying the wrong thing or doing something that would require a call to the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes.

Then again, he thought, taking another mouthful, he could always blame any mishaps on eggnog-induced inebriation. How much rum had Mrs. Granger put in this?

The party had been fun, mostly. Yule traditions were Yule traditions, magic or Muggle. Still, he hadn't been able to control his amusement when they'd turned the stereo on and sung along.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, guiding St. Nick's sleigh?

Everyone knew that reindeer couldn't fly. They didn't even have wings.

Then Ron thought about the old Anglia, about Beauxbatons' carriages and their Abraxans, and how that must have looked to Muggles, and he figured stories about flying deer were the best the Obliviators could do.
