I should come with a warning
Aug. 29th, 2007 10:45 amNew tray of braces, thus a constant low-grade head and toothache. Cramps. I am not going to be pleasant to be around today.
Plus, I'm feeling pretty damn pessimistic about people right now. Why?
It's the second anniversary of Katrina devastating New Orleans. Look at what a fiasco that was and still is. The city will never be the same. No matter what anyone says about the illogic of building a city below sea-level on the banks of the Mississippi, a half-million people should not have been abandoned.
Kenneth Foster is still set to be executed, even though the jury and prosecutor agree he didn't commit murder. But because of Texas law, his case can't be re-presented because there's no new evidence. I have issues with capital punishment under any circumstances, but this case? Totally fucked up.
eta (30Aug07): Governor Rick Perry commuted Kenneth Foster's sentence less than 24 hours before he was due to be executed.
I swear, later I'll post some happy stuff. I've got pics from a meme and I need to pimp some twin-stuff sponsored by the fabulous
