♀ I think the sky is falling. My building was built in that so-charming style that has labs in the center of the structure, thus allowing no sight of daylight. But a couple of minutes ago it was storming so hard that I could hear the crack of thunder over the hum of the electronics and such.

Lucy’s exhibit at the Natural History Museum opens this weekend. I am very excited. Even if I am unable to drag MrIris away from the opening weekend of college football to join me, I am going to see it.

♀ I think the mongo-huge S-35 experiment worked. Must repeat. I'm always a little bit wary when an experiment works the first time.

♀ I'm tired of trying to remember what to lock in this journal and what to leave open so that real life folks who pass by won't be offended. I complain about stupid shit at work. I like slash and RPS. I'm tired of feeling like I have to hide it.

♀ One of the drabbles I wrote in my drabble-a-day-keeps-the-work-blues-away effort for [livejournal.com profile] a_carnal_mink reached out and glommed onto the next bit of porn I was planning on writing. Now, somehow, the Never Read Porn On Someone Else's Laptop characters are inhabiting the same space as Chris and Jensen from (Mark You As) Mine. WTF, brain?

♀ I am very disappointed that TDS and TCR are on hiatus when there is such fodder for ridiculous news briefings. I mean, the "I am not gay" senator from Idaho and Gonzo's resignation in the same week? That's prime material.

eta: Yes, I just changed the layout again. I wanted to use a cityscape one, and the Houston one finally became available. Appropriate, yes?

That was a helluva storm, indeed. For all the storming that goes on here, I'm glad the electricity doesn 't go down like it does at home.

I'm glad the experiment worked!

Also, if you roll around in the livejournal help section, you can find out how to f-lock all future entries if you want.

Now if it just repeats.

I'm so tired of rain each afternoon. My raincoat lives in my car, and goes back and forth to work every day.

Dude. I bet they planned it that way. Gonzalez waited to resign until Jon and Stephen went on vacation.

The politicos must keep an eye on the broadcast schedule, I think.

Is it just me, or do Jon and Stephen go on vacation quite a lot? This latest 2 weeks seems like it comes immediately after their last 1 week stint, and I dunno, maybe it's just me, or maybe the dearth of good TV out there. I despair when they go on a break. Two weeks of reruns, ISH!
Are you completely off writing any twinfic anymore?

I am still writing twin fic. I wrote a few drabbles right before Deathly Hallows came out (here (http://irisgirl12000.livejournal.com/274565.html) and and here (http://irisgirl12000.livejournal.com/274769.html), plus one I think you saw already). And there are some twinly drabbles in the stuff I wrote for B. If you go to that "urr, work" post on her LJ, there are some Tweasley and JOP drabbles in the monstrous thread of comments. And I have a couple of drabbles for my [livejournal.com profile] 100quills grid written but not posted yet. I've pretty much decided that Deathly Hallows never happened. Or if it did, it was a Skeeter-modified version of reality. Because Fred Lives.

The three things I've got in progress right now are the twins/Harry potion thing (I know, I've been saying that for ages, but I made some progress on that last night, actually, phrases written that need to be made to complete sentences, so that is maybe a few days to a week off being finished, depending on whether I have to work Friday/Monday of the holiday weekend), a follow-up to the Chris/Jensen smut, and some Wincest porn that's been mostly finished for a couple of months.

Oooh, how did I miss those? Wonderful! That one with the dust smudge, yum!!
And yeah, Fred DOES live. I like your version, that's my version too.

I had completely forgotten they were on hiatus until I turned TDS on Monday night, expecting to be highly entertained, and saw the opening monologue. :(

I love how Randi Rhoades has turned everything around Larry Craig into a double entendre. Craig actually started his press conference with, "I want to thank everyone for coming out today." A caller said he'll gross out if someone refers to a political maneuver as a "stall tactic". The phrase "by and large" was used; sounds like a personal ad: "bi and large". It's too easy.

And someone is now claiming he gave Craig a BJ in Union Station in Washington.

My understanding is that rumors of homosexuality have followed him since he was in college. But if he's from Boise and he's in politics, he's probably LDS, and that is a great big no-no, so it doesn't surprise me that he'd be closeted and in denial.

The Lucy exhibit would be really neat to see.
