Dear inconsiderate asshat,

I can't order replacement tanks of liquid N₂ when they're empty if you don't tell me when you kill the tank. Is the sign posted above the tanks hard to read? Bolded 72pt Times font not noticeable enough? "When this tank is empty, please tell DrIris in rm. X. If she's not there, leave a note or a voice mail at extension YYYY."

Don't complain when there's nothing to flash freeze your samples if you manage to empty BOTH TANKS and don't tell me either time.

Thanks for leaving a voicemail this morning (20July) that both tanks are empty. Maybe you could remember to leave a message at the moment you actually emptied one? So yesterday's complete lack of nitrogen will not be repeated.

Yeah, the agarose was totally dried out, and they couldn't figure out why. Duh.

Heh. The stupid thing? Somebody did the same thing to the back-up tanks down the hall, so we have absolutely no liquid nitrogen until tomorrow. When we usually have four tanks in various stages of fullness. Zero sympathy on my part, but lots of irritation, since those are group resources, and we're all inconvenienced.
