We met over at B's fanfiction page, back when I was commenting on new chapters but still lurking on her real life LJ. The first thought that comes to mind? Yay for honesty! Because it's easy to find people who will agree with you on everything or will just not say if they disagree, but not so many can politely agree to disagree and still be friends. And not to be cheesy, but you are a demonstration of a triumph of will. Both in terms of overcoming and learning from the more distant past, and because of the way you've taken the lessons of the last year at work and made a more positive one this year. You set goals and are working toward them, which I think is admirable in a society where most people just want what they want, but don't make an effort to attain their desires.
On a lighter note, you have excellent taste in music and literature. :D I wish we had a chance to hang out more.
When are you coming to Houston again? Actually, I suppose it's my turn to head your direction.
