Day 01 → My favorite song
Day 02 → My favorite movie
Day 03 → My favorite television program
Day 04 → My favorite book
Day 05 → My favorite quote
Day 06 → Whatever strikes my fancy
What strikes my fancy?
Rise Against. Because you all know I'm a Tim McIlrath fan, right? :D (You don't even know how tempted I was to buy tickets for their shows at Metro & HOB in Chicago. I'd go IN A HEARTBEAT. I came really close to going to the radio show in Tampa this weekend b/c they were the headliners. Plus, Discos. But anyway.)

The video to Re-Education (Through Labor), which I love, partly for the song, but also because of the quote at the beginning. Truer words. (sorry - embedding is not possible for this link) This video first came out right about the time that one of Kid Rock's was being used as a promotion for the National Guard in movie previews, and I was so annoyed I went through and did a point by point comparison of the content and imagery used, but I decided it was pointless to post it.
And Hero of War. RA are fairly political, and they do not support the wars in which the US is currently engaged, but that is not the same thing as saying they don't support the actual individual members of the armed forces.
If you're more into hardcore, less into the melodic, you might like Gethsemane or other songs of The Unraveling, but my copies of them are locked ATM.
My favorite song of theirs: Prayer of the Refugee. (Video here, although I don't think it's their most inspired video.)
The video to their most recent single, Savior, premiered on MySpace this week. It's sort of reminiscent of the Famous Last Words video, but without the fire and with drum and guitar destruction. If you went to the Warped 15th Anniversary movie, this song (plus The Good Left Undone) was one they performed.
In other news, I am DONE with my holiday shopping! \o/
And I've got an alarm set to listen to Q101 at 9pm central for my favorite Chicago boys. &EMPIRES;
