Just a few songs from folks who performed at ACL:

Donavon, Hit The Ground Running. If you like Jack Johnson, you probably already know this guy. His set was awesome. Although I found his teal and purple striped trousers vaguely horrifying. The fashion police were obviously stoned out of their minds when they let him off the tour bus wearing those pants. G Love (of Special Sauce fame) was on before him on the abutting stage, and he came out for a fair amount of the Donavon's set. Love him and his harmonica and his boom-box shaped belt buckle.

Jakob Dylan, Everybody Pays As They Go. He looks more like his dad with every passing year. And with Seeing Things, he sounds more like him than he ever did with The Wallflowers. Bonus: listeners can actually understand what he's singing, as it's not mumbled under his breath in a nearly-incomprehensible mutter.

I am late joining the MGMT fan club; I only have Oracular Spectacular, but they were as good live as I expected, given their increase in popularity and air-time. Pieces Of What.

Shooter Jennings, unlike Jakob Dylan, has always looked and sounded like his dad. I would share some of his music but it's locked so that I can't even see it in my library when I look at the file listing, even though I can play it in iTunes. I guess those FBI anti-piracy warnings are serious.

We saw The Kills Saturday night at Stubb's when they opened for the Butthole Surfers (!!!), and they were pretty awesome. Then they had to get up the next day and do an early daytime gig on a stage that had them facing the sun. They looked like they were melting. Or about to pass out from heat stroke. And they were clearly not happy about doing a set in >90 deg heat on a stage with no shade. Generally I like their music, although I think the lyrics need work. U.R.A Fever

The Fratellis were on at the same time as Jose Gonzalez, so I didn't get to hear all their set. I didn't hear Milk And Money among the few songs played before I left, but MrIris stayed when I abandoned that stage to hear Gonzalez's acoustic guitar, so if they played it, he might have.

The Steps won The Sound And The Jury, and I liked them, but I don't have any of their music to share. I'll have to stop by Cactus Records this weekend and see what's available.

I was not so impressed with The Black Keys. And I forgot they were in town last night, so I didn't have a chance to see if they're better in a smaller venue, at a night-time gig.

There were other bands I've musicshared before (or that you probably have in your library) like Against Me! and Foo Fighters (DAVE GROHL! *fangirls*) and What Made Milwaukee Famous and Iron And Wine and Erykah Badu and Manu Chao and John Fogerty (who did not perform Centerfield! A travesty!) and Robert Plant. But I have to get to work, so that is it for uploads for the day.
