I agree - there are times when I need fluff. Especially if I've just read some really tragic story. Fluff gets a bad knock from most people in the fanfic world, like it's the slash equivalent of a Harlequin romance. I wouldn't want to read or write it exclusively, but really, it takes just as much work to keep something light as it does to allow it to become dark and angsty.

I think we need variety in fiction just like we need it in real life to have balance. JMO.
