it's that time of year again

I need to go buy a new CD. (Not anymore - the_con_cept shared a copy!) Of some older music, which I've got somewhere on tape. If only I could find it. Why? Because today is opening day of Major League Baseball season, and opening day is not official without John Fogerty's Centerfield blaring at max volume.

You know what else this means? It's almost hockey playoff time. :D I'm half-way through Martin Brodeur's autobiography - had to pause in my reading of Fisk's Pity the Nation because I was so disgusted with the lack of change over twenty-five years - and I'm even more of a Marty fangirl now than I was before, if that's possible.

Also on the new music front: TheBuzz played the first single from Linkin Park's new CD (I think it drops tomorrow?) this morning. I'm withholding judgement 'til I hear the rest of the tracks. The vocals are obviously LP, but I'm not sure I like it.

I was totally surprised when I saw that headline. Lamoriello has coached the team before - when Robinson left - but Julien got them to the playoffs, so I expected that any changes would wait until the off-season.
