show them all you're not the ordinary type

1. I had to be at work relatively early Monday morning, so I missed seeing Stamps perform on Fox News. Actually, it's just as well, because I would've been conflicted about breaking my "never ever will I watch Fox News" rule. But then Stamps linked to their performance. (I'm still conflicted about visiting a Fox News site, tbh.) It's... sort of strange? The anchorperson is this super awkward dude, and I don't think Ren Patrick's voice comes over well in the video. But still. Publicity. And a new song.

2. Awesome As Fuck really is that awesome. I got the download and listened to it Monday night, but I didn't have a chance to watch the Tokyo concert until tonight. I like that it's straight through, unlike Bullet In A Bible. (Also? The video to the Tokyo performance of When I Come Around is available for free download from iTunes right now.)

3. I know everyone's been linking to the interviews and reviews on LJ and tumblr, so I won't spam y'all with repeats of pics and such, but seriously. Vices & Virtues is going into the DVR after the Green Day disc is finished. And, yeah. BOYS. Nobody ships you like YOU ship you.

4. SCIENCE! Yesterday I received a gargantuan file of mass spec data, and it is FABULOUS. I spent the afternoon and most of today sifting through protein IDs, trying to parse which ones I think will be the most interesting, relevant interactors to pursue. Probably tomorrow or Friday The Chief and I will get a couple of coffees and compare notes to map out the direction I should steer my project.

5. My head still aches from spending the day with dilated pupils. But apparently my optic nerves are healthy, the intraocular pressure is low-to-normal, and my prescription is actually slightly *better* than it was last year.

6. [livejournal.com profile] passe_simple posted Jesse/Andrew baby-fic that has been open in a tab on my computer since Monday evening, and I will read it tonight.

7. US vs. Spain Davis Cup will be in Austin in July. ROAD-TRIP! RAFA and FeVer and Daveeeeed. Plus Andy Roddick, I guess?

I always hate going to get my eyes checked. I stand there and keep going, "Nope, can't read that. No, can't read that either. Yeah, no, still can't." And then somehow I always feel like my prescription is never actually right. I still have trouble reading shit. Siiiigh.

The Plus Andy Roddick, I guess? made me gigglesnort. :D

I am so very very near-sighted it is not funny. This morning I started out the exam with my glasses on, and I could read the very bottom line. Then I took them off, and I could read... the top line. If I squinted. Half the time when the doc is flipping between lenses and asking, "Which is clearer, this one or this one? This one or that one?" there's barely any difference: they are all blurry! IDK, the change in the Rx isn't enough for me to want to buy new glasses or to chuck the supply of contacts I have now, so unless I start having headaches or something it doesn't matter.

I feel like I should be more of a Roddick fan than I am. I mean, he's from Austin! But mostly I skip over his matches when they are broadcast on TV, or at least I did in years past, because he's pretty serve-reliant in comparison to more well-rounded players, and that is just not entertaining to watch IMO.

Dude, I can't even read the top line if I squint. I just know it's an E. And I agree with you on the "they're all blurry" point. I usually have to ask them to switch back and forth a few times before deciding. Stupid eyes.

I watch tennis if it's on, but it's not really something I actively follow. But I do agree with your point about AR seeming more reliant on his serves. Trufax.

I didn't used to be a big tennis fan, but my sister got me into it. I don't follow religiously, but I like having the option to watch it/listen to it/stream it.

And, yeah. BOYS. Nobody ships you like YOU ship you. Truer than true. also, Brendon is still my favorite.

Glad to hear that Awesome As Fuck is awesome.

Yay for science!

I am shocked, shocked! to hear that Bden is your favorite.

I might've watched the DVD a time or two last night. Oh, BOYS.

Remind me tonight, and I'll share it if you want it.

Sciiiience! I am marginally less cranky about work now that I got a cool result. So fickle.

I know! I mean, who ever would have guessed that I would love BRENDON!?

Yes, please share? *puppy dog eyes*

I'm glad that you're less cranky about work! Science is awesome when it does what you want it to do! :)
