(no subject)

In a single commercial break switching between Meet The Press and Fareed Zakaria's GPS, I saw ads for Boeing, Bank of America, and the oil & natural gas industry.

And people think mainstream media is impartial?

Right.

Oh, hey, Tom Ricks is on MTP, I guess I won't turn it off just yet.

ETA: Aaaaand, in a second commerical break, ads for:
Dow
Northern Trust, wealth managers who seek to minimize taxes (their words)
America's Natural Gas organization

Sounds like they're trying subliminal messaging through comercials.

I don't even think it's that subtle. It's just a reminder: we pay the bills, we dictate what you'll show your viewers.

Yeah, and that's the American way. LOL We just finished watching ' Gasland '. Rather scary that is.

>:/ That documentary makes me so very angry. On one hand, I think people are stupid and naive to believe that anyone can jam chemicals of any kind at huge pressures into their land and imagine that there will be NO consequences to the land or the water table. But on the other, haaaaaate that Chesapeake and other companies obfuscate about the contents of the extraction materials and possible consequences, and then pretend like the ruin of the water and land is not a result of their activities.

Apparently there aren't many of us in the big decision making positions. I do like how none of them would drink the water they say is good.
