Two thumbs up for Hayes Carll and the Gulf Coast Orchestra and for the Old 97's.

Last night was the first date of the 97's tour to support the new album, Blame It On Gravity.

Alt-country/Southern rock. MrIris's favorite kind of music. And since he's indulging my musical whimsy by taking me to Bonnaroo, I could deal. :DDDD

(The tickets arrived yesterday. I am SO tempted to do the whole Gollum "my preshussss" bit over them, you have NO IDEA.)

Also. My brain. I can't even begin to explain it. *bangs it against the wall a couple of times*

Steve Miller Band tonight at the Pavilion. I am going to type up more of the girl!Bren 'verse, sit in the sunshine, and basically do nothing until it's time to head out.

What're you guys doing today?

Hey, I hope you didn't spend ALL day in lab. It was too nice out for that!

Today, I am marking IB Biology exams from Florida...

Last night, I went to see Made of Honor with one of my girlfriends who had $8.00 off coupons for movie tickets - I actually got change back from a $5 for a movie ticket. It was cute, if predictable.

Friday night, I chaperoned the Prom - bad food, but not a terrible DJ, and he even played stuff us old fogies could dance to.

Exams from Florida? How'd that come about?

I teach IB - International Baccalaureate. Exams are marked "externally", meaning that mine get sent to China or Europe, where someone who doesn't know my students marks them. I started as an examiner a couple of years ago - my first year I did exams from India, Africa, and China, among other places, and the last two I've had mostly US schools. It's a lot of work, but the extra cash is nice... I get paid by the paper.
