asimplechord: (What the hell happened?)

five miles outside of Vegas

I'm suffering withdrawal. We're unable to get Comedy Central, so I've been Stewart-less and Colbert-less this week. Tragic, isn't it?

I'm hoping we can figure out the problem so that on Monday I can see what Colbert has to say about not being allowed on the ballot in S. C.. (I assume, given the late hour of the announcement, that he wouldn't have been able to include it in tonight's broadcast.)

What else?

When I got home tonight, my copy of Witch's Canyon was waiting for me. Yay! Since I just finished Convergence Culture and I'm not quite ready to pick up Performing Glam Rock. I need some fiction first. :)

Tonight's episode of SPN? I liked the idea of it. But I wasn't quite so impressed by the execution. Partly it was because of the way Dean comes off looking stupid, when there's NO WAY he could spend his life being a Hunter and not know about fairy tales. Come on.

I didn't realize that Sandy was going to be in this episode, and I had this squeeful moment of "Wow, that looks like Jared's RL girlfriend."

MrIris asked, "You know what his girlfriend looks like?" or words to that effect.

My verbal response: Um, yes.

My mental response: Yes. Yes, I do. And you really really don't want to know all the other random details I have learned for my fandom.

Also, Ryan Ross and Brendon Urie? HahahahaHAHAHA! Brendon, we all know that your sex tape would be with Ryan, but thanks for confirming it in an interview.

Reporter: Here comes the fanfiction. Here it freaking comes.
Brendon: It's already been coming.
Ryan: That's what she said.

Yes. Exactly what they said.

And, oh, hey, 'member how I complained about a Certain Person using reagents and putting empty bottles back on the shelf?

We had words today. Loud ones.

I hate having to be confrontational, but gentle suggestions about being a good lab citizen were obviously not getting the job done. Even the Chief was getting pissed, because he'd been affected by the Lab Reagent Ghost too.

It was on last night's TCB broadcast- he seemed ok with it at first, then cried. Even the guest said he felt sad for him.
Poor Stephen.

I'm sorta bummed -- I'd like to know how many votes he'd get. :)

I hate confrontations too... but go you! And glad Chief was on your side too!

Yeah, I think we're all going to have to sit down and have a calm chat about what is appropriate lab behavior.

And now there's a writers' strike, which will shut down those shows almost immediately. Sitcoms and stuff will be able to run for a while, though, because they take so long to go from writing to airing.

I've been hearing about the strike off and on since early summer and was hoping it wouldn't happen. I guess we'll see what happens on Monday.
