not a day goes by
Aaron bailed on me tonight. As in, COMPLETELY STOOD ME UP, "OH, SORRY, GOLF RAN LATE" via a txt and declined phone call. So I saw the Warped 15h Anniversary Movie/Concert by myself. Except that I txted and Tweeted
shutyourface and
vic_ramsey, who were seeing it elsewhere, so I wasn't really by myself.
Mostly? I was there to see how faily the Decaydance All Stars were, and to see Rise Against on the big screen.
Spencer Smith looked like he had a REALLY good time pounding the drums on their blink-182 cover. Tyson Ritter is single-handledly bringing glitter back. And didn't anyone ever tell him that white pants were a fashion faux pas after Labor Day?
But anyway.
My heart-eyes for Tim McIlrath & Rise Against, let me show you them. I felt like they were rushing The Good Left Undone, and that the vibe of their live show doesn't translate well to the screen. But still. ♥
For
shutyourface, who didn't really know them, some music:
These are two of their more popular albums. The third and fourth full studio albums.
Siren Song of the Apocalypse. Swing Life Away is one of their more popular songs, and you might recognize it; I'm not really fond of it. I love Give It All a lot.
The Sufferer and The Witness. You probably recognize Good Left Undone from the Warped movie (meter changes, how I love you). I really really like this entire album. Prayer of the Refugee is my absolute favorite song by Rise Against, although I prefer the live version to the studio version. The Approaching Curve is the kind of spoken word that Pete Wentz wishes he wrote, and makes me very curious to speculate about what would have happened if he and McIlrath hadn't parted ways with the end of Arma Angelus.
I have their newest album (the first song they did for the Warped show, Savior, is on it) and their two older ones (less melodic, more hardcore), and I'll upload them tomorrow/this weekend.
