The research assistant who has the bench opposite mine is wearing shoes that hug his toes like toe-socks do. The bottom half of the shoe is black and the top is grey with orange accents, and his toes are accentuated.

I have feet issues, okay? THESE SHOES FREAK ME OUT, ESPECIALLY WHEN I CAN SEE HIM WIGGLING HIS TOES IN THEM.

I... don't know? He has a male roommate - he was commuting from Beaumont when he was first hired, but then a college friend of his moved to Houston and they found a place together. And he's into skateboarding. And he's 23. That's the extent of my knowledge about him. He doesn't ping my gaydar hard, but that doesn't really mean anything.

If I want my toes to wiggle, I just don't put toe-enclosing shoes on. Or, you know, go barefoot. Which is not acceptable in lab. I do not understand these shoes, either.
