my chemical roadtrip

Tickets purchased. Covered reserve FOR THE WIN. No, seriously, you don't understand, I've tried to get actual seats at every BuzzFest I've ever attended, and was never able to, they sell out so fast. Nothing against lawn, but, yeah. Seats are good. Especially if it's the usual Houston spring/summer weather.

I was logged in at 11:59 and only got row M. But still!

As it looks right now:

19 March - Blue October
8 April - Say Anything & Manchester Orchestra
11 April - The Starting Line & Bayside
13 April - Bamboozle Roadshow - Saves the Day, Armor for Sleep, Metro Station
18 April - Ministry
20 April - HCT: Panic & The Hush Sound & Motion City Soundtrack
21 April - Thrice
24 April - Converge
26 April - BuzzFest XXI
27 April - EdgeFest 17 (Fair To Midland! I didn't realize they were on the bill!)
28 April - MCR in Austin
3 May - MCR in St. Louis
11 May - Apocalyptica
13 May - Mindless Self Indulgence
31 May - Steve Miller Band
6 July - WARPED!

other possible: 6 April - Sick Puppies (if we're back from Dallas in time)

Wow... that's a helluva schedule!

I would love to go to Warped. But the only NW date is at the Gorge Amphitheater. I'm sure it's gorgeous, but you could not PAY me to be there in the middle of August for an all-day thing. Just... no. Not doing it.

I am so excited about the early stuff!!!

It'll be 100 deg and 100% humidity for Warped, but that's pretty standard for Houston, so. ::shrug:: I'm not clear: one site said Reliant, one said Sam Houston Raceway. Which, OK, one is way closer than the other. But whatever. There are so many awesome bands, it'll be worth it.

Nah, half of them are small weeknight club shows, where the ticket is basically just a cover charge. Way more fun than sitting home, you know?

I am a delicate flower. Being born and raised entirely in the Pacific Northwest will do that to you. We just aren't built to handle heat like that (this is mostly tongue-in-cheek... I did live in Redding, CA for two years where 110 deg is typical during the summer). And the Gorge Amphitheater is in the middle of Bumfuck, WA. So we'd have to camp (which I refuse to do at all ever) or find a really cheap hotel (vermin-infested, I'm sure). Just... completely unappealing.

Oh no, you said the C word. That's OUT, okay? None of that.

Heh. Which? Cheap or Camp?

Either way, NO.

[identity profile] asimplechord.livejournal.com 2008-03-15 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Camp.

I have no idea how I was ever a Girl Scout. Because, seriously, I want a hot shower in the morning and nice mattress and warm blankets at night.

Seriously! The denomination I grew up in had their own co-ed version of Scouts and I was in it for several years. I have NO IDEA how I did that. And then I worked at summer camp for two summers. Euch.
