two new drabbles, G-rated

100 words. This first one follows Unforgivable. The prompt: faith.

George was unnaturally still, now that the Cruciatus Curse had been lifted.

Fred didn't know what else to do, so he grabbed some floo powder and dragged George into the grate, heading for St. Mungo's emergency entrance.

The healers took him immediately, leaving Fred to sit in the waiting area. Waiting. Hoping. Thinking.

He thought about their uncles Gideon and Fabian, about Sirius Black. About new products to keep people laughing through their misery and other items the Order might need.

He didn't allow himself to think about Frank and Alice Longbottom.

He knew – knew – that George would be okay.

The next one is part of the [livejournal.com profile] 100quills grid also, and occurs during the OotP school year. Prompt: weary. 100 words.

George was ready to leave. Returning to school each year had been work, but it had always been fun. Being at Hogwarts wasn't even remotely enjoyable now.

No Quidditch. Defense Against the Dark Arts wasn't even mildly entertaining. Even poking at Snape in Potions didn't produce a desirable result any longer. Which was odd, when he thought about it. He'd have figured that the Slytherins were in heaven with Umbridge in charge.

No Defense Association any longer, either.

He never thought he'd be so tired of school before NEWTs. Their mum would kill them, but it was time to go.
