Actually, tropical storm Erin is here, and the rain is coming DOWN. The roar of thunder woke me this morning, and it hasn't stopped.

*sigh*

Our lawn was just starting to dry out.

The MetroRail line is flooded. Environmental Health and Safety is going to close the flood doors in the basement of my building. The university is starting optional university closing procedures, and non-essential personnel can leave. But my experiment's only half finished, so I'll be here all day.

Hopefully the storm will let up eventually. I'm not counting on it, though. It's been dark as night all day.

Please let tropical storm Dean die before it hits the Gulf.

Anyway.

I have the final itinerary (for the flights, anyway). For The Trip.

ETA: It's stopped raining, and the sky's clearing.

This is what Brae's Bayou, which I cross as I come into TMC, looks like. You can't see it because it's completely submerged, but there's a biking/jogging path along the bayou.

Sure wish we had some of that rain. All we got from it was the humidity and high clouds on the horizon. HATE humidity, man. I'm making my own gravy here in Petland.

It's lightening up outside, just a bit. But you're right, it was uber-dark until about mid-afternoon.
