Was it not a good year for songs in movies?

Three songs from Enchanted were nominated for the Oscar for Best Song? Are you freakin' kidding me? There was NOTHING better? Sad.

Well, it IS the Oscars...

Annie and I decided that had we known about the lack of musicals, we would have filmed ourselves humming. The housework song was so annoying that I changed channels.

As I only saw Ratatoille this year, I don't know much about the other music - but I didn't think much of the songs nominated. Every time they introduced another song, I was ready to change the channel w/in about 20 seconds.

Pretty sad.

I'm really uncouth and uncultured. The only movie nominated for Best Picture that I'd seen was No Country For Old Men. And I only saw it because Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin were in it and it was a Coen brothers film.

The movie was okay, but I didn't the music was good enough to merit three (out of five total) nominations for Best Song.

OMG, we had SO MUCH FUN making catty comments about the clothes. Like, was Tilda Swinton wearing a garbage bag? SRSLY.

The mute button is a wonderful thing, I think.

Mute. Or the "back" button on the remote. They were my friends.
