I have a question/favor to ask y'all. Just because I have a hard time seeing anything but stuff I want to change when I look at it.

Go back and look at the splinch-swap smut that was my first real attempt at fanfic.

Then look at Testing, a more recent offering from the same fandom, and at I'll just pretend, written in a separate fandom, but within the last month.

Has my writing style changed? Do you think it's just because of the fandom/characters involved? Am I losing my own writing style, allowing myself to be too influenced by spoken word and other authors?

I think the stories feel different because you are writing completely different characters. I notice it with my pairings- Charlie is fluffy, Kingsley strong, the Twins amusing, etc. As for changing, some of it is growth as you get more comfortable with the characters involved. If you really want to see if you've changed, look at two fics that have the same main pairing.

Your 'style' is clean and flows so well - I don't think that part has changed at all. I do think you have gotten better at being able to tell the story you want.

Does that make sense?

I haven't read all the fics in question as yet, but I wanted to give a bit of a general answer.

It's not a bad thing to be influenced by other writers/media--as long as you're aware of it. I think it can give more depth and favor to your voice in some cases.

When I read your writing, I find that you have a solid, clear voice.
